President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians, particularly men, to let their conduct, integrity and service to others become the true evidence of their faith.
Speaking at the Men’s Ministry Faith Conference of the Assemblies of God Church at the Gomoa Pentecost Convention Centre on Saturday, July 4, 2026, President Mahama said faith must not be measured by titles, wealth, public position or social status, but by the character and works of the individual.
According to the President, leadership and faith must go beyond public declarations and be reflected in everyday actions, especially in how people treat their families, manage public resources, speak about others and serve their communities.
“Being President does not prove that I am a man of faith. It is my character and my works that will prove that I am a man of faith,” President Mahama told the congregation.
He reminded the gathering that genuine faith should be seen in discipline, humility, accountability and compassion, stressing that people of faith must become examples in their homes, workplaces, churches and communities.
“Your character is a reflection of your faith,” the President stated.
President Mahama said every generation needs men who are guided by obedience to God, integrity of character, love for family and commitment to service. He noted that the country would benefit greatly if men lived by values that promote responsibility, peace and national progress.
He urged the men present to become strong pillars in their homes and society, saying faith should shape how husbands relate to their spouses, how fathers raise their children and how leaders handle responsibilities entrusted to them.
The President also expressed concern about what he described as challenges confronting families and society, including moral confusion, changing social values and the weakening of the extended family support system.
He encouraged Ghanaians to remain firm in their faith and uphold strong family values despite the pressures of modern life.
President Mahama further stressed that integrity and accountability are important marks of true faith, especially for people in leadership and public service. He said those who profess faith must demonstrate it through honesty, fairness and responsible stewardship.
The Faith Conference brought together members of the Assemblies of God Church’s Men’s Ministry from across the country to reflect on Christian leadership, family life, service and national development.
The President’s message comes at a time when public discussions around leadership, morality and accountability continue to dominate national conversations.
For many participants, his address served as a call for men to move beyond religious identity and become practical examples of the values they profess.
President Mahama urged the congregation to allow their faith to influence their decisions, relationships and service to the nation, adding that a person’s true belief is best seen not in words, but in character.
