The Black Starlets will begin their quest for qualification to the 2027 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations when they face neighbours Togo in their opening game of the WAFU Zone B U-17 Cham
The report indicates that ghana’s national male U-17 team, the Black Starlets, are preparing for the upcoming WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
It further notes that the Black Starlets face Togo on October 10, 2026, in their Group A opener, with all tournament matches played at Stade 4 Août in Ouagadougou.
The two-time world champions face a tough draw in Group A, where they have been paired alongside host nation Burkina Faso, Togo, and Benin.
The highly anticipated encounter will be played at the 4th August Sports Stadium in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, with the Black Starlets looking to make a strong start to their campaign under head coach Kasim Ocansey Mingle.
The Starlets are back in action three days later, when they take on Benin in their second Group B fixture. Ghana will then conclude their group-stage campaign against hosts Burkina Faso on October 16.
Beyond sub-regional titles, the target is securing a win which will serve as the official qualifying pathway for the 2027 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
With only the two finalists securing automatic spots to the continental tournament, the Starlets cannot afford to drop points.
