Construction works have begun on the Fomena and Dompoase town roads in the Ashanti Region under the government’s Big Push infrastructure programme.
The project forms part of a broader road-development agenda aimed at improving access within districts, easing transportation challenges, boosting local economic activity and making roads safer for residents.
Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, announced the commencement of the works in a post on his official social media handle, describing the project as part of government’s commitment to deliver improved road infrastructure across districts in the region.
According to Evidencegh.com, the Fomena-Dompoase road network had earlier stalled under the previous administration due to funding challenges. The current works are now being financed under the government’s Big Push road-support fund.
Fomena and Dompoase Roads Receive Attention
Dr Amoakohene said the commencement of work on the Fomena and Dompoase town roads reflects the government’s determination to extend development to communities that require better road connectivity.
“Work has commenced on Fomena and Dompoase Town Roads under the government’s Big Push infrastructure programme,” he announced.
He explained that the intervention is part of a promise to deliver 10 kilometres of town roads in every district, a programme intended to address road deficits and improve mobility in local communities.
